Joseph and I were talking over the break and have big plans for Year Spaceship and January especially. January 25th is Austin Longboard Club's yearly race "Bomb for Booze." We think this is the perfect event to get our name out there and let people know theres a new club in Texas. There are a few things we want to get done before the race though...
First off we want to finish the website and get it looking clean so we look legit.
Next we want to order stickers and have new flyers or business type cards to hand out. (check the stickers thread)
We also want to have a video up to post on the website and on our Youtube page.
Finally we want to screenprint our own shirts with our logo on them to wear at Bomb for Booze so we look so fresh and so clean.
Let me or Jo know if you want to be involved with any of the things I just mentioned. We think we can get all this done and it will really help us let people know who we are.
For the rest of the year we want our sessions to continue to grow, we want to make more videos, get real shirts printed, go on skate trips etc. We also want to build a board library. after we have our website and first video done we are planning to start contacting Longboard companies about a Longboard Library. ALC started one of these and I think it's a great idea. That way people won't feel limited to only buy boards others already have because they feel the need to try the board first. Also people won't buy a board they've never tried and find out it is not what they were expecting or wanted. It's a good way for smaller companies to get people interested in their boards and a good way for us to get to try a lot of different types to find the deck that is right for each person.
Year Spaceship holds great things for WLC.. I can feel it

"THIS IS AN OUTLAW EVENT
ALL RIDERS ENTER AT THEIR OWN RISK.
January 25th, 10pm
WHERE TO MEET: [XXXXX's XXXX XXXX] in Austin, Tx
New, NEVER before ridden, meaner course.
(great pavement, steeper, 1 turn, secluded)
All riders must agree to participate at their own risk and must:
•wear a helmet
•be ok with elbows, fists, chains etc.
•be comfortable riding in traffic
Previous years have included broken bones, this is not for the faint of heart.
This event is open to ANYBODY, however, if you're just starting out, please respect the other riders and don't fall. That would suck for everyone.
This is the keystone ALC event, with racers competing for a bottle of Crown Royal. If you haven't been to a Bomb for Booze, you are missing out. Always a big turnout and always a great time.
No sponsors.
No bullshit.
Pure bragging rights."
